The Gatehouse at 128 -
your home away from home

Come and stay on the Quy Hall Estate in our charming historic gatehouse, offering the best of both worlds - all the convenience of a village with lots of local amenities and easy access to Cambridge – plus all the advantages of a rural setting, right on the edge of beautiful parkland and close to many fabulous local walks.

And relax…

Just because you’re in an AirBnB it doesn’t mean you can’t have a little luxury! Sink into the squashy three-seater sofa, stretch out like a starfish in the kingsize bed. And whilst it may be historic and charming, The Gatehouse still offers all the mod-cons you’d expect, including a Smart TV and WiFi.

Get in touch with nature

Relax in the large garden or step out the door for a stroll down The Avenue, the historic tree-lined path leading through Quy Park. Put on your wellies and enjoy Big Sky Country, striding across farmland and fenland on one of the many local footpaths accessible from your doorstep.

Hunker down hygge-style…

Whip up a treat in the small but perfectly formed and well-equipped kitchen if you just want to hunker down at “home”- if you’ve forgotten anything, the local shop is just a five-minute walk away. For all the yum without the hassle, how about ordering a takeaway from one of our local pubs? We recommend the pizza from The White Swan and the burgers from the Missing Sock: then fire up the Gatehouse’s wood-burning stove for the full hygge at home effect.

…or go full on indulgence.

Book into the Spa at the Quy Mill Hotel and have all your worries massaged away – and preserve that heavenly calm as you wander home, just five minutes across the fields. If eating out is your thing, Quy has it all: with several pubs offering food within a short walk of The Gatehouse, and more formal dining on offer at Quy Mill Hotel.

I want more than just relaxation!

No worries: with great transport connections, The Gatehouse is perfectly located for you to take advantage of all the fun Cambridgeshire has to offer. For a wealth of shops, restaurants, bars and jaw-dropping architecture, head to Cambridge itself, by bus, bike or car; it’s just five miles away – or gallop over to Newmarket and the Horseracing Museum. Prefer a historic National Trust property? Anglesey Abbey is just up the road – or over the fields if you prefer to walk. So much to explore!

Woof – what about me?

Don’t worry, your furry friends are very welcome here! The Gatehouse is well set up for dog-owners, with a large enclosed garden, separate access via the back door into the kitchen (perfect for drying off muddy paws), dogs allowed downstairs and a dog bed, bowl and towel provided.
